Galatians 6:9-10: Encourages believers not to grow weary in well-doing, but to "do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith".

We see people often that is need of something. I feel called to help others regardless of circumstances. Doing for those that have been left to crawl out their pit by themselves is one of our jobs.  We should be reaching and doing things to help them in life. This is the question. Why have God left you here among those who are suffering in life circumstances? There are answers, but I say to do good to others without pay. God will reward those who do His will.

Philippians 2:3-4

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others".

Yes, we as Christians must be kind and look out for our brothers’ sisters in Christ. We got plenty and we must share with those who needs support. There are many things we can do to help those in this life, such as praying, giving, and always checking on their well-being.
